Sogetsu School

Sogetsu, one of the three major ikebana schools in Japan, blending tradition with creative freedom.

In Japan, there are hundreds of ikebana schools, each with its own history and philosophy.
Among them, Sogetsu is recognized as one of the three major schools, alongside Ikenobo and Ohara.

In our classes, students study according to the official Sogetsu curriculum, progressing at their own pace.
The learning begins with the basic system known as Kakei-ho, which teaches the fundamental forms of ikebana.
Through this method, students learn the essential rules of composition and the techniques necessary to create balanced and beautiful arrangements, even from the very first lessons.

As the study deepens, the focus shifts to the three core elements of ikebana: line, color, and mass.
These elements form the foundation of all ikebana compositions and are the key to transforming plant materials into an artistic expression.
By composing with awareness of line, color, and mass, a work naturally comes into being.

In ikebana, there is no single correct answer: there are as many answers as there are people who create.

Sogetsu ikebana is the flower that only you can express.
